Conceived as a pedagogic work for Youth Orchestra, Automático is funded in the meeting of two musical languages and aesthetics: the classic and the contemporary. The tension between opposite couples (consonant-dissonant, sound-noise, clarity-confusion, regularity-irregularity…) creates a dramaturgy from where emerges the metaphoric character of The Machine, at the central part of the piece. Noise and dissonance carry the evolution of rhythmic patterns, highlighting the natural spatialization of instruments inside the orchestra.
