Commande du chœur Accentus pour le Jeune Choeur de Paris, cette pièce met en musique des
fragments du roman Les Vagues de Virginia Woolf.
“I am my own ghost, an ephemeral passer-by, in whose mind dreams have power, and garden
sounds when in the early morning petals float on fathomless depths and the birds sing.
I hate darkness and sleep and night, and lie longing for the day to come. I long that the week
should be all one day without divisions.
When I wake early (…) I lie and watch the brass handles on the cupboard grow clear. (…) I feel
my body harden. (…) Here is another day, here is another day, I cry (…). It may be a bruised day,
an imperfect day.”
